Tips on Choosing Your Vendors

Tips on Choosing Your Vendors

Wedding season is approaching and it’s time to start shopping for those vendors! We all know that behind every great wedding, there is a team of the best vendors. These are the people who are helping the bride and groom manifest their vision by taking all those ideas into action. And in case, God forbid there is an emergency the day of, they are the people who iron out the kinks so that the couple and guests are still enjoying the party and don’t have a clue there was a mishap in the first place. Here are five tips from Aquafuzion on choosing vendors for your special day.

1. Allow your passions to impel your priorities by envisioning your wedding

Before you start seeking for advice and turning Google into your best friend, really think about how you and your fiance envision both your wedding planning journey and your wedding day. You could even spend a weekend jotting down anything wedding related that grabs you. After this, if the thought of planning your wedding makes you feel stressed, it’s probably best to contact a wedding planner for further advice and and could work with your budget. If you already picture yourself reciting vows in front of a backdrop of ocean views, let that idea fuel your ceremony and reception search. Most importantly, recognizing how you want to feel and how you want things to turn out will help guide your search. This includes thinking about your most important pros. What are certain things that you and your fiance cannot live without on the day of? Start your research with these vendors first.

2. Ask around - especially with family and friends

Once you’ve start searching, in our opinion, the best place to start is with family and friends. Most likely, you’ll know someone that has recently gotten married or knows of someone who just did. In many cases, even if you haven’t spoken to a friend on Facebook that you saw lately that has gotten married, it doesn’t hurt to contact them. You can ask which of their wedding professionals they valued most. However, although a friend’s word can go so far, compatibility is crucial. It’s not necessary to use all the same vendors that a friend did but making sure that you have the same taste as your vendors is important.

3. Get ideas by attending bridal shows

We like to attend bridal shows with our clients and we cannot say enough how exciting it could be to have all your ideas manifest under one roof. At the end of the day though, it’s completely up to you. Limiting the amount of people coming with you to the bridal show is essential because it will curb the amount of opinions and ideas present. The people that know you best like your mother, sister, best friend, and/or future mother-in-law can be of great help but keeping the group small is ideal. Before attending the event it’s important to have a general vision of your vision day so that these guidelines can help direct you to which vendors to focus your time with.

4. Hire vendors who accept your budget and go beyond your own style

Good wedding vendors and professionals will creatively rise to meet your standard and are flexible with the ideas they offer you. Those who can suggest interesting budget-trimming alternatives are the best in the industry and know what they’re doing. For example, if you’re asking for pricey Buttercups and they aren’t in season, a knowledgeable florist might suggest garden roses instead as an alternative. In addition, be sure to look at their portfolio carefully and see if there is any diversity in the events that they do. Ideally, you would want to see a consistent level of quality in the different styles of events they do. It may not be your cup of tea, but if they could do a spectacular job within different styles, they’ll be sure to perfect your special day.

5. Look for a team player and note first impressions

When choosing a vendor, go with someone who will listen attentively and be able to manifest an event that reflects the two of you as a couple. The perfect vendor will know how to create moments that screams the both of you and your guests will be amazed at how well its been put together. Also, being aware of the way vendors react, conduct themselves, and how quickly they respond to your emails are also something to consider. After all, this is a day that is meant to happen only one time, and you want to be go with someone that you not only trust but are detail-oriented of all things.
